What's New for the 2022 Ford EcoSport SE?
Ford introduced the EcoSport in 2018 as a subcompact crossover with an affordable price tag. It is the entry-level option in Ford’s crossover SUV lineup. For 2022, the EcoSport is available in four trim levels. From the base option up, these are the S, the SE, the SES, and the Titanium. The SE trim is nicely equipped and boasts solid capabilities. With this in mind, you may be wondering about updates that have been made recently to the EcoSport SE.
The primary difference that you will find between the 2021 and 2022 Ford EcoSport SE versions is under the hood. Ford has eliminated the base powertrain from the mix. This year, the SE and all other EcoSport trims come with a 166-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive has been eliminated from the system. All-wheel drive becomes standard in 2022 for all trims. The six-speed auto transmission is unchanged.
The spirited exterior design of the EcoSport SE is unchanged. The EcoSport has a small stature with an upright stance and strong curves from nose to tail. The hood is short with steep tapering. It edges into a hexagon-like grille with two chrome accent bars. The large headlights are moderately angled, and their shape perfectly complements the triangular nature of the foglights. Across the sides, a crisp pinstripe on the doors is paired with a deep accent on the lower panel, thick body molding, and well-defined flares over the fenders.
If you opt for the EcoSport SE trim, you will find all of the same features in the 2022 model offered in the 2021 version. Exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, roof rails, and LED running lights. On the interior, you can appreciate a wireless hotspot, two USB ports, a six-speaker sound system with satellite radio, a push-button starter, an auto climate control seats, heated front seats, smart device connections, and an 8-inch touch display screen. Safety equipment includes parking sensors.
There are also a few options available for the 2022 EcoSport SE. The SE Convenience package gives you an upgraded auto system, ambient interior lighting, a 110-volt power outlet, and a blind-spot monitor. The SE Appearance package adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, powered driver seat adjustments, and 17-inch wheels.
